As part of the Renaissance East Midlands Workforce Development Programme the museum has benefitted from a six month graduate placement, which has enabled an Interpretation Plan to be developed for the proposed new Southfield Site Visitor Centre and the wider museum site.

A significant part of this work has involved audience consultation work with both existing museum visitors and people who haven’t previously visited the site (non users). A major theme that evolved out of this consultation process was the desire for visitors to have greater access to stories about the museum and its exhibits.
